VICAMPO is more than just your average wine merchant. It is an online marketplace where over 3,000 of the best German and international winegrowers offer their wines.
The primary objective was to improve online sales performance. My responsibilities included a concentrated effort on refining both the product card interface and the checkout page to guarantee a seamless user experience and to drive customer engagement and conversions.

• case study

I was responsible for designing and creating key pages for the website, including the homepage, product catalog, product card, and pages related to the order and payment process. Given the availability of exclusive wines in the online store, a central design was implemented with the dual objective of highlighting these wines while encouraging customers to purchase them.
Centered design is a crucial element in directing the attention of site visitors to each product, while also establishing an intuitive, user-friendly, and straightforward interface. This approach encourages users to spend more time on the site, exploring its features and product range. This allows users to become more familiar with the extensive product range, examine every detail, and select the most suitable wine. This increases the likelihood of a purchase decision being made.

Furthermore, the centered design contributes to creating a unique user experience that sets the store apart from its competitors. Visitors can easily navigate the site, finding the right information and products without too much effort.
01

Research and analysis

Prior to developing the website design, I conducted a competitive analysis. A number of competitors were selected for consideration, including online stores selling wine.
02

Wireframing and prototyping

During the prototyping phase, I created a block structure to visualize how the design interface would look and where the different elements would be located. I started with simple diagrams to define the main areas and components such as buttons, menus, and input fields. I then moved to a more detailed prototype, adding all the text, fonts, and basic interactions to the pages. This process allowed me to see how users would interact with the site. I was able to make any necessary adjustments before the development phase began.
03

UI Design

I used a variety of colors and carefully selected images to give the design a complete and harmonious look. This not only provided aesthetic appeal, but also helped to create a pleasant and intuitive user interaction, which improved the perception and usability of the site.
The new filtering system has been carefully crafted to cater to the diverse needs of our clientele. It allows users to sort products according to a multitude of criteria, including grape variety, geographical origin, harvest year, and price point.
This innovation enables users to find products that match their preferences more quickly and enjoy a more personalized shopping experience. Furthermore, I implemented a filter-saving functionality that allows shoppers to revert to previously selected settings, saving them significant time and making the shopping experience even more convenient. This update has generated positive feedback from users and has helped increase customer loyalty to our online store.

• conclusion

The design of key pages for an online wine store enabled me to reach several significant conclusions. This project highlighted the importance of careful user interface design and ease of site navigation. The use of a centralized interface design was instrumental in showcasing our product range, capturing customer attention, and driving sales.

The process

The project demonstrated that meticulous attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to each page are essential for successful implementation. All pages, including the homepage and the payment page, must be optimized for user experience. An attractive design is not the only requirement for a successful shopping experience; the functionality must also be user-friendly and enjoyable.

User experience

It has been demonstrated that the creation of a distinctive user experience can confer a competitive advantage on an online store. Visitors who are able to readily locate the information and products they seek are more likely to return for further purchases and to provide recommendations to others. This fosters customer loyalty and results in increased online sales.
